rain SA20 Derby Series Gallery | Queen's vs Dale
It was a scorcher in Komani for match 2 of the rain SA20 Derby Series between hosts Queen's College and Dale, who duly produced a sizzling contest.
Both teams saw their faithful come out in their droves at the picturesque Parry Davies Field, nestled below the Stormberg mountain range, and they were suitably entertained.
Batting first, Queen's compiled 140/3 in their allotted 20 overs, largely thanks to an unbeaten 66 from the lanky Ross Fitzhenry.
Dale looked on the ropes half-way through their innings, but an 81-run partnership between Khwezi Mtshakazi (50 not out, 3x6, 2x4) and Zingce Poni (27 not out, 4x4) sealed a famous last-over six-wicket victory for the visitors from Qonce - adding another riveting chapter to the two schools century-old head-to-head history.
Our photographers were on hand to capture the intriguing match as it unfolded.
