rain SA20 Derby Series Gallery | Menlopark vs Waterkloof
It was another landmark day in South African schools cricket on 22 September when the rain SA20 Derby Series came to live with an engaging match-up between Die Hoërskool Menlopark and Hoërskool Waterkloof at the floodlit Menlo Oval.
Menlopark were all-in with the entire school lining the one boundary while bringing the gees and noise. Meanwhile the Waterkloof cricket community came out in force too as braai smoke filled a warm spring evening and the DJ kept the vibes going.
The main entertainment was provided by Menlo and Klofie 1st XIs contesting for bragging rights in this opener when no trophies or progression was up for grabs. That didn't prevent the two teams giving their best and it was a polished Waterkloof who held off a determined Menlopark effort to win by 6 wickets.
