PRIDE AND BRAGGING RIGHTS ON THE LINE AS PHASE 1 GETS UNDERWAY IN WESTERN PROVINCE
Switch Schools SA20 Volume 1 in Western Province is set to deliver a month of high-stakes T20 cricket, with the boys’ competition kicking off on 15 October 2025 and the girls’ tournament starting on 17 October 2025.
BOYS' DIVISION
The boys’ competition will see intriguing clashes right from the start as the hubs and co-ed schools teams look to upset the boys' schools, traditional powerhouses of Western Province youth cricket. Many eyes will be on defending national champions Bishops Diocesan College as they begin their campaign against Fairmont High School. It has to be remembered, however, that South African College High School (SACS) are actually the defending Western Province champions, having held their nerve in last year's final before faltering in Phase 2. They face a tricky away clash against Hoërskool Bellville (who did not participate in Volume 1) in Round 1.
Rondebosch Boys’ High School and Wynberg Boys’ High School completed an all-boys' school semifinals line-up in Volume 1 but will be desperate to go one step further this time around to secure progression to Phase 2. The same can be said for Curro Durbanville, Khayelitsha Hub, Ottoman Hub and Hoërskool Tygerberg who regularly supply players to the youth provincial teams and a win in T20 cricket can sometimes come down to one standout performance.

Meanwhile, newcomers Hoërskool Stellenberg will host Langa Hub in a 'Feature Match' live-streamed on the SuperSport Schools App and broadcast live on DStv Channel 216.
The likes of Reddam House Constantia, Curro Durbanville and Gugulethu Hub will hope to go even further than they did in Volume 1, so it promises to be competitive four weeks of action in the Cape.
