PEARSON CLAIM EP GIRLS HONOURS WITH VICTORY OVER HOSTS FRAMESBY

9 Oct 20242 mins

Pearson High School are the Eastern Province Girls Schools SA20 winners following a convincing 78-run win over Hoërskool Framesby.

Framesby, the hosts, won the toss and sent Pearson in to bat in blustery conditions in Gqeberha. As it happened, Pearson racked up a significant 153/3 with their star batter, Emma Tinley scoring an unbeaten 75. Remarkably, it is her third unbeaten half-century (in three matches) of the Schools SA20 competition marking her out as a player to watch for the future.

In their reply, Framesby never got going and eventually were bowled out for 75, handing Pearson the honours (and a place in Phase 2 of the Schools SA20 competition) by 78 runs. While Amé Botha was the chief destroyer with three wickets, Tinley showed her all-round skills by adding two wickets to her match haul.

Pearson will feature in the Phase 2 of the competition in January-February 2025, against the winners from Kei (Nomandi Junior Secondary School) and Border (final scheduled for Saturday, 26 October) to produce a regional champion.
