NO TERM BREAK FOR SCHOOLS SA20 AS NORTH WEST FINALS BOOK-END BUSY WEEK

While most high schoolers will be looking forward to the end of Term 3, this week is busy one up and down the country for Schools SA20 players.

As many as 86 matches are scheduled, including eight sub-regional deciders in Border and Kei and both the girls and boys finals in North West.

The girls competition in the North West is being run as a round robin, with the top two on the log going straight through to Sunday’s final at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom – home of the North West Dragons provincial teams. In the boys competition’s semifinals (on Friday afternoon), Hoërskool Wolmaransstad will face Potchefstroom Gimnasium and Hoërskool Lichtenburg take on Die Hoërskool Rustenburg with the winners not only securing a place in the final – also at JB Marks Oval – but also qualifying for the next phase as two boys teams progress. Both those semifinals will be streamed live on the SuperSport Schools App.

On the flipside, joining the Schools SA20 action for the first time, on Monday afternoon, will be six of the eight teams entered in the Easterns girls competition, namely Actonville Hub, Hoërskool Alberton, Hoërskool Die Anker, Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen, Hoërskool Marais Viljoen and Kwa-Thema Hub.

The remaining two teams, Duduza Hub and Benoni High School will play against each other on Tuesday afternoon in a match scheduled to be streamed live on the SuperSport Schools App.

Meanwhile, action will continue in Eastern Province (girls and boys), Free State (girls), KwaZulu-Natal Coastal (boys), KwaZulu-Natal Inland (girls and boys) as well as Northern Cape (girls) as Schools SA20 continues to give the next generation of South Africa’s talent a platform to shine on.
