The Switch Schools SA20 Central Gauteng Lions Phase 1 enters its most electrifying chapter with the Feature Days set for Thursday, 23 October (girls) and Friday, 24 October (boys) at the prestigious St Stithians College.

Over the two days, six high-stakes matches will be played across the Dlamini Oval, Wayne Joubert Field, and Jamieson 1, culminating in the crowning of new provincial champions in both divisions.

Girls Division: Wide Open with New Front-Runners

Defending national champions Steyn City School were dramatically ousted in the quarterfinals by a spirited Jeppe High School for Girls outfit (who did not play in the inaugural edition of the competition), throwing the title race wide open. Volume 1 provincial runners-up Queens High School, who fell only 2 runs short in last season's final, now have a golden opportunity to go one better. Their semifinal clash with Hoërskool Randburg (also Volume 2 newbies) at the Dlamini Oval promises fireworks and will be broadcast live on DStv Channel 216 at 11:00.

| DID YOU KNOW? Since 1 June 2019, the Main Oval at St Stithians has been named after Andries Dlamini, who loyally and expertly prepared and marked the pitches and fields of St Stithians College from 1977 to 2018.

On the Wayne Joubert Field, Jeppe will look to build on their upset win as they meet a gritty Northcliff High School (live-streamed on the Supersport Schools App from 11:00), who’ve flown under the radar but boast a quietly confident squad having also reached the semis in Volume 1.

All eyes will be on which of these four can rise to the occasion and etch their names in Switch Schools SA20 school cricket history - as only the winning team will progress to the regional Phase 2.

Boys Division: Heavyweights Set to Collide

Central Gauteng Lions' Feature Day 2 sees the boys’ semifinals taking centre stage. Jeppe High School for Boys, fresh off a dominant performances against St David's Marist Inanda (the Volume 1 national runners-up) and Krugersdorp High School, face St John’s College at the Dlamini Oval - a fixture steeped in heritage and potential heroics considering what's at stake. Their clash will be broadcast live on DStv Channel 216 at 11:00.

Meanwhile, Steyn City School, who shocked Feature Day hosts St Stithians and Volume 1 provincial winners Hoërskool Noordheuwel in the previous rounds, take on King Edward VII School (KES) on Jamieson 1. Steyn City will be brimming with confidence, while KES bring a proud legacy and formidable top order to the contest which will be live-streamed on the SuperSport Schools App from 11:00).

With Noordheuwel (who boast SA20 auction signing JJ Basson in their ranks) and St David’s Marist Inanda (who featured SA U19 co-captain Jason Rowles) already eliminated, a brand-new Central Gauteng Lions boys' champion will be crowned, though the runner-up will also progress to the regional Phase 2 set for January 2026.

Let the new era begin at St Stithians College.
